Am I symptomatic?

My labor was induced three weeks early due to abnormal bleeding in April.  They were concerned there may be damage to the placenta.  They never did find anything wrong, and my baby ended up being born c-section.  I received an IUD form of birth control in June.  It is now 8.5 months since my son's birth and I am still bleeding.  I know it's normal in the first couple of months after childbirth.  I bleed every day, enough to stain my panties and sometimes soak through onto my pants.  Nearly every time I urinate I pass large, bright red blood clots (about the size of a dime).  My bowel movements have been extremely irregular, with diarrhea at least twice a week.  In addition, I have a headache nearly every single day.  My mom had cancerous cysts throughout her reproductive system and had a complete hysterectomy about ten years ago. Do my symptoms sounds like it may be cancerous? I feel like a hypochondriac with all of these things going on with my body, but I wish I could just pull them all together to figure out what is going on with me! Any help would be extremely appreciated!  Thanks a bunch!

I had five children, breast fed all five and never had any bleeding problems. Bleeding everyday is not normal!! If it is the IUD, then I would suggest that you find a different method of birth control.  Also, make sure your doctor is aware of your mothers gyno history.  Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

A 2nd opinion would be a good idea. Even if it is the IUD causing the trouble there should be a way to fix it or maybe it just isn't a good method of bc for you.

I did call my OB's office to try and make an appointment.  They transferred me to the nurse and she suggested I wait until I am done nursing to get checked out and basically ignored my request to see the doctor.  She thinks it's my IUD making me bleed and giving me these side effects.  Mmm... I don't know what to do.

Please remember to listen to your heart and if you feel something is not going right, seek for help. I am glad you found this foru,.  I witnessed a lot of women who were able to search for help and got diagnozed with OvCa eventually.  I was pushing my doctors to order the tests and MRI constantly. Over 1 year it took them to diagnoze me and thanks God it was found at second stage.  You are young and all the odds are in your favor.  Just make sure the cancer is ruled out and go on with your life!!!

I wish you good luck and hope u get better

What is your doctor telling you about your symptoms? Has anything been suggested to you about checking your hormone levels? Since your are concerned about cancer, you might want to ask your doctors to do cancer screening.
