Any one with Thyroid Issues

I have just been diagnosed with Graves disease, an autoimmune problem where my body creates an antibody that stimulates the thyroid into overfunctioning. Has anyone ended up with an autoimmune issue following chemo etc?  Has anyone had thyroid problems crop up?

While looking into the thyroid hyperfunctioning they found an almost 2cm solid mass attached/on my thyroid. I can't shake the feeling this solid mass may be a recurrence of my OVCA. Is it possible for this to be a coincidence? Am I that unlucky? I had fine needle biopsies done last thursday which should come back on Monday and I am extremely nervous. In a normal situation there is only a 5% chance of malignancy but as the doctor said "with you history.........." Has anyone had a recurrence to their thyroid?

My mum was diagnosed in late 2007,  and recently her scan showed multiple cysts and a small mass onn her thyroid. i've checked with her doctor, and he says tt a recurrence in the thyroid is very rare.

but i think it is quite suspicious because my mum is also experienceing symptoms like constipation and fatigue, same as her previous symptoms prior to the diagnosis in 2007.

i do hope ur thyroid biopsy was ok? if u dun mind, maybe we can share information on this together.

take care and god bless.

I could swear I read somewhere about pregnancy and thyroid issues when I was researching. Go to the thryoid forum, and read their health pages. It may help. Throid problems are horrible. I have the opposite as you, mine is Hashimoto's.  I'm still trying to balance my meds. Please don't worry to much, I know that is impossible to do right now.  But stress makes you feel worse.
Take Care, Paula

Bron,
I do not know much about thyroid issues but I know that you must be very worried right now. Please keep us informed as to what you find out and know that I am keeping you in my prayers.

Dear Oz,
I am so sorry you are having to deal with this now. autoimmune disease is so wide. My immune suffered during chemo in the form of IGG depleting by half (and my IGA was already gone comepletely). It did make me more suseptible to infections of the upper respitory. They have found a nodule on my thyroid, but so far that is all it is, and it has not been diagnosed further but to watch for growth. I hope your biopsy comes back clear of malignancy, and they are able to treat you with medication to keep the issue under control. Please keep me posted.
