sudden rise in ca 125

hi docotr. my ca 125 suddenly rose from 17 to 89 in just 1 mnth. whether its recurrence? iam 31 yr old finished treatment for ovca(stage 3c) on oct 09. my ca is always on the range of 13-17. whether such a rise in 1 month is normal? pls help......

hi doctor,

i think the beast is back again. I had a ct done recently and the report says,"minimal free fluid visualised in the peritoneum, focal areas of thickening are suggested in the peritoneum. i am yet to get the ca 125 report, will go to the doctor along with that. i am devastated. i know there is no cure now. can u pls tell me how many days of life can I expect now? i need to do a lot of things for hubby and my little daughter....

hi doctor,

thnx for yr prompt reply. I had a whole abdomen ultrasound done. I will be seeing my doc with the reports on monday. Actually i had an excellent response with the treatment earlier. I received 4 nact, then surgery follwed by 2 adjuvant chemotherapies. when the onco surgeon opened me after my 4th chemo, there was just no evidence of disease, infact the biopsy report also said the same. the docs were really happy with the response. so its really unfortunate if I have e recurrence within a yr of finishing the tratment. I am really worried and helpless..

Hi There

I would repeat the test first. it might be an error
if not it is worrisome for a recurrence
if your repeat CA 125 is still elevated I would suggest a CT scan for evaluation.
