Back home

Well I'm home.  And what a turn up for the books.  Well in recovery room was experiencing bladder pain.  The docs started fiddling about and my gyn/onc said we didn't take out your womb or ovary they are both healthy.  Growth came from old scar but was resting on bladder.  Called in the consult urologist and bagged and removed growth but had to go into the bladder to have a look.  That was clear.  No obvious signs of malignancy.  However have to wait for two weeks until pathology results.  Meanwhile my foley catheter is still in until Tuesday week.

I'm tired now and going for a rest.

Love to you all.

xx

Thanks for all your comments.  Yes I do it like a man now (she says in a low booming voice!).  It does have its plus side.  No getting up in the middle of the night and I can drink as much water as I like (plus lots of cranberry juice).

I have my catheter at home because they had to open the bladder to investigate.  The bladder heals better if the catheter is kept in place for two weeks post op.

Since coming home, I have slept for England.  I didn't get a wink of sleep in the hospital.  I'm a home bird and just love my own bed too much.

love to you all

Welcome to the RS.  It sounds like it was a job getting there, but hopefully things will start to look up for you.  I know how you feel about the cath.  Last year I had to leave the hospital with on and had it for two weeks.  It was the pits, but we are strong women, and we can get through this too.  Keep us posted.  Kasie

Good news,I am glad for the most part all is well.
By the way, What is a FOLEY catheter? I had a catheter for my laparonomy a long time ago, it was taken out in the hospital. Yours ,you have a catheter at home?!!

Glad to hear you are okay.  I am fairly new to this forum, but have read all the worries and prayers for your situation.  Not to make light of your cath, but when I had one (at home as well) I used to giggle about finally not having to squat. Had to find some humour in all of it so I used to brag that I could pee from the little tap!

Take Care of yourself! Wishing you all the strength for a quick recovery.

So far, so good but what a trauma getting there, eh? I feel for you - I have done way too much but recovery is good so far. I hope you feel better soon and get that darn cath out. If you can, drink acidic drinks and take vitamin C to fight infection.
