RavenLady...question for ya!

Hey Mary, how ya doin', Sis?  My best friend just called me, she found out she has a 10 cm cyst on her right ovary.  They said it looks like a dermoid by the US.  THey recommended surgery as they said it won't resolve on it's own.  Just curious, are there different types of  dermoids or just the standard, run of the mill, hairballs?  I don't have any experience with dermoids, just hemmorhagic cysts.  THanks for any info you can give me for her.  She is freaked out.  SHe also has polycystic kidney disease and has a hard time dealing with that already.  She had a partial hyst 2 years ago.
Thanks hun.

From what I understand, dermoids are just hairballs with teeth etc.  Remember, I had 2 removed.  Tell your friend not to worry, she is just expressing her inner cat!!  Also, dermoids on the whole are benign.  They do need to be removed as they do not resolve on their own.  Take it easy girls!

Most likely since there can be bone, teeth and cartlidge in them.  They are gross things to say the least!

You have an absolutely lovely time this weekend!  The lake sounds beautiful.  My dh is from the adarondaks of NY and the lakes are just gorgeous!  Nothing like pontooning on the lake (teehee).  Glad we caught you before you catch your flight home!  Love ya sis,
