Before dx

For those that have been dx, did you have a change in your menstrual cycle before your diagnosis?

Yes, I did have many changes.  Prior to having kids I had terrible cramps but for an 8 year period following the birth of my first child my cramps were mild.  In the 4-6 months prior to my dx I had cramps again that rendered me bedridden.  I passed huge clots that just didn't seem normal.  I even resorted to buying the heat wraps that you can wear all day because I couldn't go about my daily activities due to the excessive pain I had the first few days of my cycle.  I was still pretty regular but would run two weeks late one month, a week late on other and prior to that I had been a very regular 28 day cycle.  My biggest red flag though was the urinary urgency and frequency.  Like someone mentioned, any cyst (benign or malignant) can interfere in the same manner.  I was dx with stage 1a last July one month after my 37th bday.

I believe an ordinary cyst could have the same effect so don't automatically think the worst.  Fingers crossed for you.

I have not been dx but i can tell you that my cycle which has been regular forever is not anymore.  For the past three months my period has been more and more irregular.  Yesterday I went for my first MRI to check out the "cyst".  I feel like something is up.  Been having this feeling for a year so we shall see after my lap.

For two years I had extreme menstral periods. All of it was labeled menopause and I was told to "stay active, you're healthy". That all started when I was 51. periods would last sometimes a whole month. Both my sister & Mom had had hysterectomies early so I nothing to compare it to. I had the usual endo. biopsy and u/s too. then in Oct of 07  Other than some ibs i didn't really have symptoms, i thought the bloat was menopause. I went for a routine colonoscopy and a month later diagnosed ovca. My ob/gyn was in shock since nothing had shown up on even the most recent of u/s. it's a wierd disease, most of my female organs were not bad, but it jumped to my colon. In fact one rediologist put his arm around me and said it's not your ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, go see a colon onc. So at first I had a hard time believeing I really had ovca. My ob/gyn set me up with a really good, and compasionate gyn onc, and he is guiding my treatment.

No same amount, no cramps, no changes

a change in my menstrual cycle was the only symptom I had. I started being less regular (had always been 26 days on the dot).  I actually didn't get too concerned about this as I have cousins who went through menopause in their 20s so I figured at 38 it was possible I was heading that way too.
