CA-125 and ovarian mass

Hello.  3 years ago I had a cantaloupe sized endometrioma removed (along with my uterus due to severe endo and adenomyosis) and my ovary and tube attached to the mass.  My CA-125 before surgery was 38.  I now have another mass on my left ovary.  it is still small - a little smaller than a golf ball.  My dr. did the CA-125 again and it came back 36.  He said he expected that b/c he knows I have endometriosis and expects my mass to be another endometrioma.  We are watching and waiting right now.  All I want to know is would the CA-125 be about the same even though the other mass was so much larger and I had my uterus with those conditions the first time?  Is the CA-125 result relative to the level of endometriosis and the size of the tumor?

Yes Endometriosis does raise the CA125  level and it does not relate to the size of the tumour (I have had Endometriosis).

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along but it is my understanding that endometriosis does raise the CA125 results. I don't think it matter what the size of the tumor is if it is an endometrioma. But I could be wrong. Just wanted to answer this and that way bump it up so you get replies. Good luck!!
