CA-125 results?

My mom has all the signs of OC with tumors and is going through all the test that come along with that; CT, x-rays, ultra sounds, and blood work. She got her CA-125 results back today and it was a 1. So my question is: is she for sure cancer free? Can you a have a CA-125 result of one but still have OC? Also is the ca-125 test just for OC? Cause they are also looking at her bladder for cancer.
thanks
cindy

Any ovarian disturbance such as cysts or masses or tumors can mimic ovca.  99% of these cysts, masses or tumors are BENIGN!!!!!   Is your mom seeing a gyn/onc?  They are specialists in the female reproductive area and have seen everything!  You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

I would say a CA125 of 1 is definitely a good thing!  Unfortunately it isn't a for-sure thing.  About half of early stage OvCa and even a small percentage of late stage Ovarian Cancers don't raise CA125. I know nothing about bladder cancer.

Remember that benign cysts and ovarian cancer have the same symptoms, and most cysts are benign.  I will be thinking of you and your mom.

I have a cyst with a CA125 of 4, and my gyn told me today she wants to do a laparascopy and remove it.  She thinks it's benign, but I am going to have a gyn/oncologist present in case it's not.  They are the experts in this surgery.
