ovarian cyst

I am 35 years old and have just been diagnosed as having a complex ovarian cyst on my right ovary. My doctor wants to wait for two months and do another ultra sound and see if there is any change to it. I am of course worried and don't feel I want to wait. Does the term "complex" mean there is more of a chance of it being cancer? Based on your experiences is it wise to wait or should I be trying to hurry this process along?

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Valarie,
Firstly cysts are very common and approximately 95% are benign, complex cysts have some solid parts that can be malignant though this is still rare . How big is the cyst ? most doctors will watch them for a couple of cycles to see if they grow or maybe disappear  but generally they like to remove them once they reach 5cm and over . Try not to worry as the chances of malignancy is low . Let us know how you get on .

  Best wishes Angie
