CA125 level is 3600 and stage 4 advanced

Hi,
Recently, three weeks back , my mother-in-law found out a tumor on her leg and consulted doctor. They suggested for various scans and ca 125 test also.Later they found that she had been effected with ovarian cancer and is in stage 4 The CA levels are intially 2400 and later she had gone chemotherapy and now the CA 125 level reached to 3600.
Can anyone please suggest about the stauts of her health.Wat precautions need to be taken care ?.

I can't understand how they went from a tumor on her leg to ovca!! This is the first time I have heard of this.  Please consult with a gyn/onc for the very best care that is needed for her.  Good luck~~~Joanne

are they doing cheom first and then surgery.  is her health ok to even have surgery.  it is rare for the cancer to move like that.  i would think thery are trying to shrink things first please let us know more.  and good luck

How do they know that MIL has ovarian cancer?  Has she had a biopsy of the masses near her ovaries?  Has she had staging surgery?

The CA125 level does not tell us the extent of the disease, it just shows that your MIL is sensitive to the protein.  

She needs to be seen by a GYN/ONC immediately as they are the only ones that can properly stage her disease.  From there they will discuss treatment.
