Dear Dr. Goodman,
I was dx w/ OC, 3a, no lymph involvement, little ascites, in Oct 2006, had optimal debulking immediately and started chemo in 2 wks (carboplatin and taxotere). Finished chemo in mid Feb 2007. CA125 was 8, then 6 months ago moved to 9, then 4 months ago to 10, then 2 months ago 11, and last week it is 15.
Of course my great oncologist says "it is ZERO!!" CT, chest x-ray normal. Blood work normal.
But, because this is such a deadly and incidious disease, I am worried.
No experience with fluctuating (or climbing) CA125s. No clinical data to go on.
Can you give me a sensible perspective on fluctuating (or climbing) CA125s and what that looks like and what it means?
Thanks so much for your great work here!
