CA125 variation between labs

I was Stage 1 and for the past 3 years, my 125 level has moved between 4, 8 and as much as 10.  All tested by Quest.  My insurance just moved me to LabCorp.  Test just came back at 13.9.  could it be just lab variation/sensitivity?

Trust me....2 to 5 is no big deal!!!!! that is just "background noise"  If you bounced from 2 to 5 to 8 do not worry. Your reading is so low there is no difference in those numbers.  I am a little concerned because I have never had it at 13.  But I really think that switching to a new lab might be giving me a more sensitive test...or I am hoping!

Hey, girl.....how do you feel about your numbers?  I know when mine went from 2 to 5 I was upset !  My doctor wasn't though.  I still don't like it.
Peace.

thanks so much for your reply.  It made me feel much better.  I have an appointment on Thursday but hearing it from "one of us" always helps.  Good luck to you too!

Yes, this change could be due to the lab.  I recently addressed this issue with my doctor.   I was dx with Stage 1 in 2007 and my numbers got all the way down to 4 and most recently is was 13.    My doctor is not concerned about the increase even though the results are from the same lab.  Good luck to you.
