I'm sorry to hear about your pain. It sounds awful : (
I wonder if acupuncture would help clear your lymph system. I also work with a medical massage lady who massages my lymph system to keep it flowing better (it feels really, really good to have this done!)
Good luck.
Thank you for the suggestion, I've always wanted to try accupunture but didn't know anyone who had it. It sounds nice and we could all use something nice.
Take care and thanks again, Angie
Do you see a pain management specialist? One of the problems you are having may be the fact that your doctor is not prescribing strong enough pain medications. You should NOT have to suffer. If you are getting 10 mg. of the Oxycontin every four hours, that may not be enough. Ask for more until your pain is handled...is my advice to you.
Hello Teresa, no I've never seen a pain management specialist but I need one, especially with my doxil treatment coming up. I tried to leave you a massage on your page, but it kept erasing. We have a lot in common with the bleeding after hysterectomy, dr missing cancer during surgery, and the doxil. I have colitis and a fistula that wasn't diagnosed during my last treatment of doxil. It caused hemorrhaging and severe pain that no pain medicine touched, but it did stop the cancer for a bit. Currently I'm on Oxy 10mg every 4 hours and 800mg of motrin every 6. Thanks for you suggestion, I got some calling around to do Monday.
Take care, Angie
If you have a inflamed or pinched nerve you might need a different drug.
I had nerve pain after my debulking surgery. No opiate painkiller touched it. I was put on a different drug that was specific for nerve based pain (can't remember what it was though) and after being in pain for days with no relief, in only a few hours after taking the 1st dose of the new drug the pain started easing and was almost completely gone after another dose.
A pain specialist is a great idea, they might try different types of painkillers to relieve the pain you are in.
I never new such a pill existed, I was on the fentanyl patch before, but it didn't help, so I didn't bother asking for it. I feel some relief just knowing I have these new options to ask for. Thank you so much! Big HuG, Angie
