Cells on bowel sac

Mum has had stage 3 OVCA since March 05, chemo on and off since then.
She had bowel bypass in Dec 09. CA125 is currently 80, on caelyx/doxil.

She had an appt with a dr last week who said an x ray showed cells on her bowel sac/membrane. He said that these are incurable.

What does he mean? Surely the chemo would deal with them?

Thanks

"Bowel sac/membrane" didn't show up on Google.  But omentum did, and the definition could be what you're talking about.

My doctor removed my omentum (and my appendix) when he did my hysterectomy.  He said that cancer cells like to grow (seed?) in the omentum.  I don't know if it's too late to remove the omentum, but maybe it's worth asking.

I hate this disease....HATE IT!!!!

How does the doctor know that the cells will not react to chemo???  If your mom feels up to it, why not try a different chemo????

Sending you lots of hugs,
Pam
