Cervical Cancer Screening for my 20yr old Daughter Scared~

This is ovarian cancer forum and I entered it because of my current testing and surgery.  Last year my daughter was diagnosed with CIN II that is Moderate/Severe Cervical Dysplasia due to HPV.  She is bleeding during intercourse and during pelvic examinations she left work today with severe pain in the lower back to see gyn.  I talked with him they are operating on her August 25th to test the deeper cells of the cervix and the uterus for cancer.  She had a cone biopsy last year and it came back positive for the CIN II well now here we are a year later and I am scared cant think about anything else now anyone crying and nervous for my child any ideas?

thanks guys the HPV is positive high one, she had cryosurgery last year and a cone biopsy I thought it would be over with.  Now here we are again and she still bleeding and having problems. This time a little more invasive they will do a D&C and laparscopic explatory surgery to look at her pelvic area Aug 25th. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about this doctor says he is looking for cancer cells called me yesterday afternoon.  It will probably be all fine that is how I have to think.  I get more upset over her than my own health LOL anyway I'm really not laughing as we all know raising kids wow at our heart strings.  Thought I got passed the hard stuff when they were little.  Pray for my two sons in Iraq too please thanks!!  I need a break from all this fear!!!!!!!!!!

I had CIN II/III when I was 21. My doctor did cryotherapy and I did not have any trouble.  The main question is:Is she HPV positive?  My case, I am not, but it is a very common virus that lots of people carry. Try not to worry too much.

I had that too Maur and went on to have two great kids but was and am, always vigilent with annuals.  Sucks that a virus can cause cancer but glad the medical community undrestands this risk and watches our young ones.  Our job, learn all we can so as to supervise.  You know I spent all of today in the waiting room at Mayo while my son had surgery for a birth defect, of sorts, that I passed on to him.  He still has two kidneys so all is well!  I am bone tired but do understand how you feel, having to go through this while you have your own issues, that part I don't know, just post whenever you need to Maur, many of us are Mothers and we do get it!  What stinks is that as you learn more, you have to be careful not to panic (out loud anyway, do it here) to your very young daughter who should not have to deal with this at her age!  Damn!!!!  Cyber Scream!!!!!  MV

I too had moderate/severe dysplasia due to HPV when I was 22 yrs old(I'm 42 yrs now). At that time I just gave birth to my son & when I went for my postpartum checkup my pap smear came up CIN II or III(I can't remember exactly). I couldn't get treatment right away at the time because I had no health insurance. 6 months later I borrowed money from my parents to get laser surgery that lasers off the dysplastic cells off the cervix.  After that I had to go for pap smears every 3 months for about a year & then it was over. I know nothing spread even after 6months went by so I believe it is a slow growing cancer. I know your daughter's partner(husband/boyfriend) will have to get treated for HPV as well or it will come back. My husand had to get laser treatment on the genital area but that was able to be done in the office.
