Chemo related neuropathy

Anyone suffering from this too?  Wondering if anyone had any tips on ways to relieve it.  I'm also a Type 1 diabetic.  I have managed to avoid neuropathy (a complication of diabetes) for 20 years and then it turns out to be a side effect of chemo!  Just had my 3rd treatment (out of 6) of Carboplatin and taxol.  The neuropathy in both hands and feet seems to get worse with every treatment.  The feet are worse though.  Tips or commiseration are welcome.

vitamin b does help. I would soak my feet in cool water to releve the burn a bit, and use cocoa butter to help releve some of it also. It took a long time to get over the nuropathy in my feet, over a year. sometimes it will still bother me and my last chemo was in sept of 2008.

My oncology nurse had recommended that I take 100mg of Vit. B6 for neuropathy and I found that it did help. I'm on my 4th chemo drug now, and I've increased the dose to 200mg of Vit.B6 and have no signs of neuropathy. I had been getting some pins and needles sensation in my lymphedema swollen leg, and now that has stopped.

Check it out with your doctor before you decide to start taking on your own.

Good luck
