Chilled and confused

I just had TAH 7 days ago; and still don't know anything about hormones. For 2 days now have been freezing in the afternoon and then after an hour to an hour and a half I get very hot; my appetite still isn't that great and the smell of meat cooking makes me sick; and I seem to be very nervous;  are these signs of  menapause?

My Doctor hasn't even discussed hormones with me yet; his NP said I might take antidepressents to help with some of the symptoms. Some of my co-workers said since I had a dx of stage 1 cancer that I might not be able to take hormones.

I tried to take the less evassive route and opted for the D&C and Ablation on August 10th; the pathology report from D&C came back as cancer, so on the 19th., I went in for a TAH.

So, here I begin this journey and would appreciate any advice from others who have been through the same.

Hi there..glad you wrote back...speak with both drs about hrt...dont tell other what other said,,,,,

Its very common to hae difficulty sleeping youve been through so much part of its physical and I believe part of it is anxiety...what we try not to think of or worry about during the day has a way of surfacing at night. You may benifit from some sort term anti anxiety meds,

leg cramps 2 weeks post op concerns me a bit not tremendously...have you been up and walking  you should be by now. I think you should phone Drs just to be safe and see if they want to test for possible blood clots.

I am going to transfere your post to the female cancer forum...I think you may get some different view points, and maybe some info that may help you. Please feel free and very welcomed to pm me ..I will do my best to help and would like to hear how you are doing.

Thanks for your help. I did run a low fever for 2 or 3 days in the evening,

I still have more questions:

I am now 2 weeks out and go to my Oncologist on Tuesday and GYN on Friday; which one of these Dr.s would be the right one to speak with about the HRT? I have been told that since I was dx with cancer; they wouldn't put me on hormones.

Is it common to being having insomnia and leg cramps after a total hys.( I lost uterus, ovaries, and cervix)?

Make certain to take your temperature cause chills then hot sounds like a fever to me,,,IF its a fever report it to Dr right away..if its weekend or late hours and fever is 101 or greater go to the ER

Barring it not being a fever the hotness could be flashes, but one sweats with night sweats after a hyster and also sweats with a fever...the chills do not fit

Very nervous is common your body has been through extreame trauma,,also emotionally this is a hard surgery speak with your dr about this also hormone replacement therapy will help ( get bio identical) but that takes awhile and sometimes 2 or 3 trys to get whats right for your chemistry...Ask for short term anti anxiety medication there is no shame in that , you have been threw alot ,,also some women not many develp a post surgical depression, be certain thats not happening to you, you really should schedule appt w Dr and discuss these issues

Check for the fever k ? that concerns me most
