I am not supposed to be alive according to statistics. I am here because I lucked out and got into an awesome Clinical Trial at a great Hospital. I have Clear Cell Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. They did not catch the Cancer until it was in both Ovaries, Liver, Spleen, Diaphragm, Bowel, and my whole lymph system including my heart. I threw up and had diaphragm spasms for two years. They even missed it when I ended up in the ER. I use to carry a bowl with me to throw up in. I also have a rare form of Multiple Sclerosis so they blamed it on that.
Not only that but I started with a GYN/Oncologist who was in a Rock Band N.E.D.and was too busy making a CD and a Movie about his Rock Music. I only saw the Doctor before my surgery then just his nurse. I never saw the guy in the hospital or for my chemo but I do get to see him on Facebook and on U Tube and at the Movie Theaters. I have no clue if he was even there for my surgery, neither my husband and I saw him that day or the six days I was in the hospital. Luckily I changed hospitals after my third Chemo. I was 30 pounds under weight. They immediately gave me fluids and two litters of blood at the new hospital. I see the doctor all the time and they do not want me to throw up at all. They also got me a Nutritionist. I am so glad I had the courage to change hospitals. I am over 30 weeks into the study. I have gained my weight back and I am alive. If you have Ovarian Cancer it is not the end of the world. Having the right team and cutting edge care is the most important thing. Never give up hope.
