Complex cyst

Hello and thanks for reading my post.  I hope I am in the right place to post this question. I had an ultra sound done 7 weeks ago. I was told I had a cyst,( 1.5 x 1.8) I thought she said it was a simple cyst at the time. I repeated the US two weeks ago and was told I had a complex cyst now that measures 1.4 x 1.6 cm. My PA is the one that normally takes care of all my female issues. When she called to tell me about the results she said it looked pretty commen and not for me to panic (she knows me to well) She said she wanted me to follow up with an OBGYN Doc. I am a horrid worrier. I think I have read way to much about complex cysts. My husband read with me and said that he thinks we should just get it out to be safe. I am not sure what to think. I meet with her next week. If she tells me to wait another cycle is that to long if it is something bad? I also have a funtional cyst on the other ovary. Is that normal to have multiple cysts? I also have lots of breast cysts and have for many yrs. I know that this could be nothing but I am so scared. Any advice? I am on pins and needles waiting to hear what you all think ....... I hope you are all having a blessed day.

Your cyst is still pretty small, so that is good news.  They usually don't remove them until they are over 5 cm.  I had a 2.7cm complex cyst last Nov.  I waited until the end of Dec. for another US, and by then it had resolved and gone away.  That is why they want to wait 1-2 cycles to see if it goes away.  Then if it doesn't or changes sizes, then they make a determination on surgery.
I hope that helps some, I know I hated waiting.  But do remember most of these cysts are just another thing in life to worry about, most turn out fine!!!
Keep us posted!
God Bless you

Don't panic!! Ovarian cysts are quite common, even complex ones. The vast majority are totally benign.  Your's is still pretty small, so it would be normal for your doctor to recommend waiting and watching for another cycle or two. Many cysts are normal functional cysts, and resolve on their own.  I was found to have a cyst in May of last year, and my gyn and even the gyn oncologist felt comfortable waiting and watching for several months. When it finally changed into a larger complex cyst with internal "nodules" she advised surgery. That was done 8 weeks ago, and it was found to be borderline, stage 1A. It was 12 cm when removed, but I never had any symptoms at all.

While it is nerve racking to just wait and watch, from your description of the cyst, that's the standard approach.  Your doctor will likely recommend a repeat ultrasound in a couple of months.  That will show if the cyst is even still there and , if it is, if there have been any changes.  Hang in there and try not to worry.
