Few Questions

Hi,

I've read that some of the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer can include indigestion and urinary problems.  Is this generally caused by the size of the tumour pushing everything internally?  I've been experiencing these symptoms and am getting a bit worried.

Thank you.

Jan gave you excellent advice. And to answer your question, yes many of the problems that we experience before dx are due to the tumor pressing on other organs. If you have any or all of those symptoms for more than 2 weeks and they are symptoms that you have never ordinarily had, make an appointment with a Dr right away. It may not be cancer, but it will rest your fears.

Last June they finally came out with the "accepted" list of symptoms for OvCa and they are listed below.  Personally, I had a low grade fever off & on for 6 months and so did Gilda Radner, but it is not on the list.

They say that if you have these symptoms for more than 2 weeks go to the Dr. and have a pelvic exam. If your dr thinks you need tests they will probably send you for a transvaginal ultrasound first.  If they don't and they can't tell you what it is insist on one.

bloating
pelvic or abdominal pain
trouble eating or feeling full quickly
urinary symptoms, such as urgent or frequent feelings of needing to go

Those symptoms can occur with any size of cyst or from eating pizza.  They can also be the signs of IBS and a kajillion other things.  You should not just sit around and be concerned.  You should go to the dr ASAP. The sooner you find out it is something else the sooner you will be relieved both physically, and mentally.  The big C is a hard word to handle and if you have it (which is higly unlikely, based on stats), you want to find out sooner rather than later.  99% of cysts are benign or some high number like that, but you should still not put off going. Go, find out it's that sub you ate last week and feel better.  Good luck
