I had surgery this past Feb for a 5cm complex cyst with septations & papillary excrescences. Mine turned out to be Stage 1a, Low Malignancy Potential. Because it was caught so early, and was low malignancy potential, I did not need any chemo, just ongoing monitoring with the gyn. oncologist, and my prognosis is excellent.
Just because yours is complex and has septations does not necessarily mean it's cancer. Most ovarian cysts are not, even the complex ones. But, if you are in the small percentage that is cancer, the earlier it's caught the better. Also, make sure that a gyn. oncologist either does your surgery or is present when it's done. In the event that it is cancer, a gyn oncologist is the best person to ensure that a full and accurate staging is done. That's key to a good outcome.
It's hard not to be scared, believe me I know. Not knowing for certain what it is makes it hard to think about anything else, and we tend to assume the worst. Once my gyn oncologist advised surgery, I wanted it done asap to get the "alien" out of my body and find out what it was. The waiting is the hardest part. But the ladies here are great support and will be there with advice, info, and a encouragement no matter what you have to face. Keep in mind the odds are in your favor that it's not cancer, but if it is, you absolutely want to get it as soon as possible.

So sorry you had cervical cancer at such a young age. Of course you are very worried now. The statistics are very low that you have ovarian cancer.
If you do have cancer, you want to catch it at an early stage. At stage 1, surgery can be a cure. The other stages, chemo is involved. If it is stage III on, it usually recurrs and you're on chemo most of the time. There are some rare cases with Stage III + without recurrance.
Best of luck to you that it is just a cyst. Ask your doctor about a Pet scan. That shows cancer.
