Confused and coping with ORS

Hello. I am not sure I am in the right forum as I don't know if I have Cancer, but here is my issue. I was told yesterday by Surgeons I am unfixable. Due to ORS complications. A little history.
1972 Appendix Surgery
1975 May C-Section (Daughter passed Oct 1975 Birth Defect)
1977 exploratory.. tumor left ovary softball sized, removed ovary.
1979 exploratory . pregnant right tube, abortion, removed partial right ovary , diseased
1982.. pain. bleeding. hysterectomy..left partial right ovary
1992..pelvic mass.. was told removed rest of R Ovary
2003.. Gall Bladder taken out.
2005.. surgery to remove RIGHT OVARY?? Again..
(supposed to be lapro, had full diagonal cut, interior was stuck together, had to sererate to remove mass)
2008. OCT 9.. Pap test Feb 08.abnormal, pap test Apr 08 abnormal, Ca 125 is 15.6, Ultrasound shows a mass

Sorry for the lenthy email, but my history is what is stopping them from surgery. Was told that very dangerous if I go into surgery again due to possible cut or nick internal organs to proceed as they are adhered together from scar tissue, adhesions.I was told could be.ovary regrowth, scar mass or ? (didn't say)..My question is how do I find out what the mass could be?

Maybe Dr. Goodman on the Ask the Expert forum for Ovarian Cancer will have some ideas. Best of luck. How frustrating this must be for you.

Yes I am.. I don't believe or want to believe it is cancer. During my last surgery they were concerned with having to *unglue* my organs to get to the mass I had before. Six months later it was back..or another one..in same area. They are concerned that going in and with the amount of scar tissue, adhesions I have would be vey dangerous for me. I am not going to give up! I just don't know where to turn as my Surgeon feels surgery would do more harm than good.
Thank you for responding.

Are you seeing a GYN/Oncologist???  No I do not think that it is cancer.  They deal with many benign conditions, ORS being one of them.  GYN/Oncologists have 3 years additional training in gynocological issues.  No one should have to learn to live in pain, there has to be solutions....don't stop until you find one!!!!!
Let us know how it goes.

Thank You for replying. I was told it possibly could be a regrowth, since I am so *glued* together from previous surgeries they could have left a cell or root of the ovary. The Surgeon told me the same thing. the risks outweigh the benefits. I just redid all of the tests yesterday, Pap.. Ca125, and doing another ultrasound on the 21st. I guess I learn to cope and wait. But the pain is severe some days. Kritter

Kritter - I had surgery in 2000, was diagnosed with early stage OvCa....then in 2004, they removed the other ovary and uterus.  I have no ovaries, but, have what they beleive is an Ovarian Remnant Cyst....do we know for certain....no we don't.  The doctors will not do a third surgery on me either, they feel that the risks out weigh the benefits....so we watch and watch and watch until there is a change at that point a decision will have to be made as to whether to operate or who knows what.  You have a "normal range" CA125, as for the Pap Test, that has nothing at all to do with ovaries and why it came back positive, I don't know.
There is another wonderful person, Kasie, that posts, she just had surgery a few months back for ORS.
Good luck,
Pam
