Constant Cramping for A Month

Hi All,
I'm a 30 year old woman who has been having constant pelvic cramps for a month (this has been my only symptom).  The cramping has gotten worse as time has gone on and I finally got in to see my doctor yesterday.  She didn't even give me a pelvic exam!  She did some lab work and told me that I would have to come back in 3 weeks for an exam and an ultrasound.  I'm absolutely terrified and can't believe I have to wait so long to go back.  I'm sorry if I seem overly concerned, but my mom had cancer a few years ago and although they were never able to find the primary tumor,  they suspected that it originated in her reproductive organs.  Does this sound like ovarian cancer?  Should I try to get in to see a doctor sooner?
