Cost of pelvic CT scan

I have asked several doctors and looked online but havent found an answer.  I was wondering if anyone remembers what their scan cost.  I will probably have to pay out of pocket.

I had to pay cash for a pet/ct last year. They gave me a discount since insurance would not cover it. It was 3100, in Memphis.

Thank you for the responses - I have heard everything from $200 to $700 to $2000 and $9000.  I guess it really doesnt matter since I have no choice whether to get it or not - so whatever it is - it will have to be o.k.

My insurance should be active this week and my doctors appointment with-in the next 2 weeks.  I will for sure keep my profile updated on what is happening.  I love the way this community cares for each other.

My last pelvic/abd CT scan billed to my insurance company at $295.  I don't know if it makes a dfference, but this was as an inpatient.

You could probably call your local hospital and get an answer to that question. I don't see the amount that is billed to me for CT Scans, because insurance pays it all.  Being in the US, you could always go to an emergency room for your illness, even without insurance.  They would probably do a scan because of the symptoms you have.  You are waiting on health insurance to kick in, right? How long will that be?

I'm a Canadian living in Ontario so our scans are free and we can't buy them privately here.  If I go to Quebec I believe I can get one for around $200.  When I was upset about the timing of mine I did call some clinics and hospitals in Michigan to see if I could get it done there faster and pay.  I'm not sure what the cost is but would guess it will be in the $200 to $500 range.  I suggest you search the web for places that provide them local to you and call and get a price.  Good luck!
