Could it be Ovarian Cancer?

Hello everyone. I am not by any means a hypochondriac, but lately I have been extremely nauseated. Extremely tired and it doesn't matter how small of a meal that I eat, my stomach blows up as if I had just eaten a full meal. I'm down to one meal a day because I have lost my appetite, yet my stomach looks as if I'm pregnant. I have severe pain in my pelvic area and terrible back pain. I went to see my gynecologist and she did the pelvic exam and then sent me to get a pelvic ultrasound today. I believe God, however I am a bit nervous to get the results. Could this be ovarian cancer?

I'm sorry you are going through this. Thankfully, ovarian cancer is rare so the odds are very much in your favor that it is not cancer. Could it be your ovaries shutting down? I was very nauseous, tired and had no appetite (along with a long list of other symptoms) after my uterus and ovaries were removed. But that would not explain the pelvic pain.

The CA125 test is not the best at diagnosing ovarian cancer.

Let us know what you find out. I hope you get answers soon and it's nothing serious.

Ya, it's very frightening.  I understand.  Was it a CA 125 test that you had?  This is a marker test.  When will you get your results?

Oh, it is always scary when we suspect cancer.  I'm sorry you are going through this.  How old are you?  Do you have any family history of ovarian cancer?  While those things you are experiencing are on the list for symptoms of ovarian cancer, they can be caused by other things as well. So, please remember that.  Here is some information on ovarian cancer https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/ovarian-cancer/symptoms-causes/syc-20375941,

You've done the right thing to be evaluated. Waiting is hard.  But please know that 'most' of the time we suspet something like cancer, it isn't.  Irritable bowel syndrome is another reason for why you could have theses symptoms, for example.

Let us know the result of your test.  hugs

Thank you so much. I have been up all night because I also had a blood test done. I forget what it's called. I'm very anxious but optimistic at the same time. I'm 55 years old and no history on my mother nor my father's side. I have had a hysterectomy years ago, but still have my ovaries. I will be waiting as patiently as I can. But I thank you for encouraging me and I thank you for the information. God Bless You.
