Don't just listen and nod, as questions...it's your body.....being a good girl doesn't mean being quiet and not questioning what they are treating how they are treating and why they are treating.
One of the things that my journey taught me is to adovate for my own health...it's my body and I know what I am feeling.
Best of luck...and let us know.
Thank you foe your calm approach. I am not sure why They have given antibiotics the answer seemed to be if the pain geys better then it was an onfection if it doesnt then its the cyst. I also forgot to mention that i have been sufferimg from low back and hip pain and I am in the process of being checked by a GI who seems to think the tummy pain i have been experiencing could be either IBS or gall stones. im feeling a bit pulled apart and confused. My feelings are that these symptoms are related to one thing. When the Dr talk I become a good girl listen and nod.
From what I have learned over the years with Ovarian Cancer, is it is either cancer or it is not, a benign mass will not turn malignant if left untreated.
Why would they put you on antibiotics if there is no infection?
Can you see another doctor? Cysts can cause pain and all the symptoms you are describing, and I am guessing at 46 you are still menstruating, so depending where you are in your cycle, the cysts could change. They may want to wait a few weeks between scans to see if there are any changes.
Usually once a cyst is about 5 or 6 cms many doctors do consider removing them as they can twist and cause issues.
Without a biopsy, no one knows anything for certain.....but, remember that ovarian cancer is still a relatively rare disease, and try hard not to panic until they have been able to determine exactly what is going on.
Keep us posted.
