Cramping and back pain, what tests should I ask for at appointment?

Hi everyone. I am relatively new to this site. I have been experiencing vague cramping on my right side for about 6 months or so. Some days it is worse than others, like starting at ovulation until I get my period. It is on the right side, not extremely painful, more like a "stitch" or side ache. I also have back pain on my right side. This might sound strange, but are the ovaries more below the belly button or on the side of the belly button? My pain is on the side. Anyway, I am just wondering what kind of tests, ultrasounds, exams, etc., I should get when I see my OB/GYN. I am hoping they can rule out ovarian cancer, but want to make sure I get the right testing done. Thank you, any feedback would be much appreciated!

I have recently learned that is you experience right abdominal pain associated with back ache that the possibility of Irrritable bowel syndrome could be there.  You should still have an ultrasound done to rule out ovarian cyst.  Good luck!

They are below and to the side of the navel.  Ask for a manual exam, and an ultrasound.  If there is anything on the ovary, then the ultrasound should reveal it.
