HI Doris...I didn't have the orange sweat or tears, but my urine was 'orangy/pinky for a few hours after the infusion.... but the colour goes away. I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm feeling o.k... see my Oncol. on Tuesday, so I'm guessing it will be more of the same. I've only had 2 treatments thus far. Remember though, with this one, it will take 2-3 treatments before it kicks in, so your numbers may jump for the first couple. Once it starts working, they should tumble down then. I hope it goes well for you...hugs..Helen..
Thanks Helen- I will soon find out how I do on this next adventure in chemo. I will do the ice during infusion. I would not appreciate mouth sores! That sounds so painful. The things we go through. Did you get the orange tears or sweat that this chemo claims to produce. How strange that would be too! Thank you so much for the info. Hope you are feeling well.
Hugs right back at ya-
Doris
Hello.... yes, I can't complain about the Doxil... it worked great for me two years ago, and continued to do so for 3 months after coming off it. The only side affect when I had it then, was large and sore mouth ulcers. This time I've been told to suck on lots of ice while the infusion is being administered, and that seems to be working... so far one ulcer, and only smallish and not so sore. Some ladies get the sore hands and feet, but I've been lucky to avoid that. I've been doing chemo for just about 4 years now, (Stage 4)and had most of them. Taxotere/Carbo worked well, but the Gemzar was by far the worst I've had. Made a real mess of my bloods where I needed transfusions for both red cells and platelets.. the first and only time I needed those... and the Gemzar didn't work all that well for me.
I wish you all the best with the Doxil. Have a heart scan before you start, as it's known to damage the heart over a period.
Best wishes...hugs...Helen...
Hi there- So Doxil has been good to you? I think I may be headed there very soon. I've done Carbo/ Taxol, and Gemzar. How is your recovery from Doxil? I am stage lllc, 44yrs old. Good luck!
I'm currently on Doxil and don't have any problems with constipation...rather a little the other way, but I do eat lots of fruit, veggies plus wholemeal bread and also lots of nuts. I guess it's like all facets of this cancer, we are all different in how we experience the drugs and their side affects. Hope everything is going well again soon...hugs..Helen...
Leslee was also constipated while on Doxil untill she started taking Miralax , she is regular now and has nornmal stolls. It is the first perscriptive laxative to reach OTC statis.
