East Coast Canadians

I know that this is not a posting like some of the recent serious questions and information.  I  know there are people from all over, on this site, so I was wandering if any one from the east coast of canada is on here.  My brother-in-law is stationed at a navy/airfore base near Halifax.  We went to Halifax and PEI for our 25 anniversery, 5 years ago.  I loved Halifax and wished we had had more time to explore.

Birdcarver, I have been as far west as Calgary.  We thought my husbands work was going to transfer him there about 6 years ago.  We went for a 4 day look see.  Really liked it and our son got a quicky tour of the university from a co-workers of my husband.    The company changed it's mind but with my health problems I was glad to stay in an area I knew.  I had( have?) an Aunt and Uncle who moved to Burnaby BC in 1967.  They loved it and never looked back.  I am not even sure if they are still alive.  With all my family gone I don't hear the gossip and good news anymore.  My husband use to do sales for his company so was out west a lot.  They supply internals for the towers of the oil industry refinerys. After 10 years on sales he was ready to move on to another position.  My goal is too see more of Canada if I ever get my health stable.  I grew up in an eastern Ontario town where people thought a 1 hour drive to Montreal or Ottawa was a major trip.  I moved away for work and have never looked back, at least in terms of not traveling.  I got to go to  conventions with my hubby.  Got to see some of Nashville but I really enjoyed New Orleans.( way before hurricane wipe out).  It is the only place where I felt comfortable finding my own way around, mainly the French Quarter and during the daylight hours.  The food was incredible and we got to do a few touristy things.  I will say this for the US people on this site.  The Americans know how to do conventions.  All food, drink, etc included in admission to convention floor.  The company picked up all the other bills because there was still loose purse strings for these things.

Another Katie.  We did a one day quick tour of Banff.  I thought my son would never stop drooling.  He is the only skier in the family and was in heaven when he saw the mountains.  Really nice town.  I have heard stories of Moose coming right into town and eating gardens on people there.

Well, I'm not from the east or west coast, but beautiful Barrie, Ontario - am I allowed to say hi anyways?!. Hope everyone is enjoying this lovely heat wave - atleast that's what's going on here! I think I might join my 3yr old with a run through the sprinkler - take care!

Tybear, sure you can say Hi!.  I'm not far from Barrie.  About 1 hour.  North east of Toronto-Uxbridge.  My mother in law and sister in law and family are just outside of Midland, near Victoria Harbour.   Enjoy the sprinkler.  I just broke down and turned on the AC.  I am ok during the day but my son and husband have a harder time with the heat.  That air quality is a problem for me as well since I have asthma.  It usually is not a problem but poor air quality gets me every time.

I am from Western Canada, but I have family roots in the Maritimes. I have visited PEI and found it to be one of the most beautiful places in our country. I have a great-aunt there. I have also visited Newfoundland and it is a fascinating destination. So very different from other parts of the country. If you really want to see God's country, though, you must come to Alberta and visit the Canadian Rockies as well as our incredible lakes, forests and prairies. Proudly Canadian,
Michelle
