Elevated Inhibins

HI Everyone,
I haven't been on here in a while, but I have another question that maybe this community can help me with. I was diagnosed in 2004 with GCT and had surgery which was considered as my treatment with no chemo or radiation. Last January my inhibinb B test came back elevated while my Inhibin A and Estradiol were normal...I was pretty much told it was a fluke and don't worry about it. I was diagnosed with DCIS this January, and my inhibins were drawn with the rest of my preop labs since they were due to be drawn anyways. I underwent a complete mastectomy on 1/31/11, and just received word that my Inhibin A is now 3.3, and my Inhibin B is 43. Just a few days after surgery for breast cancer, am I now facing a gct recurrence? Any input would be helpful. Thanks, Tammy

I am not sure of the staging...I do know that it had reached the outside surface of my right ovary and had not traveled anywhere else (lymph nodes and pelvic wash were negative) , but I have no idea of the mitotic rate. The oncologist that I am now seeing for the breast ca told me that it had absolutely nothing to do with GCT. I was under the impression that Inhibins are only produced by Ovarian tissue. I had both ovaries and uterus removed and am no longer on any form of estrogen, which I only took for 1 1/2 yrs. I had been cancer free for 6 1/2 years until the breast ca development.

I am wondering if perhaps they were elevated due to the beast cancer..... ? I would think to be re-tested in a few months and see where they are then.....

What stage was your GCT...and do you know the mitotic rate?
