Enlarged Ovary, Swollen Abdomen, Pain, etc

Hi, I am 27 years old and have a long history of endo (uterus, kidneys, ureters, bladder, intestines and ovaries). I had a partial abdominal hysterectomy almost 3 years ago and have been doing well until a few months ago. I started with swelling of the abdomen, frequent urination, right sided pain, and so on. I went for an ultrasound and they found my right ovary is enlarged. The dr working ultrasound told me I needed a surgery plan and he would further discuss my situation with my surgeon.

Has any one had an enlarged ovary and if so what was your diagnosis? I know the possibilities...endometrioma, endo or ovarian cancer.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks so much!

Hi, I have had similiar problems. I have pain in my abdomen as well as my right side abdomen. The nurse practioner did a physical exam and noticed my Uterus to be enlarged. The ultrasound didn't see any tumors on the ovaries or the uterus. I have now been told that she wanted me to see the OBGYN doctor. Hmmm...I thought she was the Dr. Nice of her to tell me that. I just scheduled a new appointment with my old gyno. He delivered my son 10 years ago. He was a great doctor. I will see him Friday. I have been in uncomfortable pain this past week and my stomach is huge!! I look pregnant. I am very frustrated because I KNOW that there is something wrong with me. I know. I just wish and hope that I get answers....soon!! I'm sure Friday they won't have an answer for me. Which means....miss more work for more appointments to get a diagnosis!!!!

I was diagnosed with an enlarged ovary yesterday.  I was wondering, were you exhausted and weak?  I can't eat and I am exhausted all day and have constipation.  I was just wondering if you also experienced these symptoms.  I have a long family history of cancer and I am scared to death.  Can you give any advice?
Thank you & take care,
margo

Hi,  the dr who was there during my ultrasound is a high risk OB/GYN. His partner has followed me for 7 years now and is the one who did my hysterectomy. She also is a high risk OB/GYN.  There is a mass in the rt ovary which they believe is causing the enlargement. They just couldn't tell if it was an endometrioma or not. (Which i have had in the past, several actually) My surgeons nurse called today and said the dr will be calling me this afternoon. I was told last week I needed surgery to have the ovary removed so then I will know for sure the cause.

I am around 110 pounds and my stomach was so swollen this weekend my 4 yr old asked me if I had a baby in my tummy! The pain is not awful...tolerable..it's the constant urination and swollem abd that is more of a pain.

Well, thanks for your kind words and listening.

Hello there....first you need to know thet 99% of all cysts/tumors are NOT cancer...they are benign.....all you know right now is that you have an enlarged ovary that propably needs to be removed....that means you need to talk with a gyn/oncologist......not a general surgeon.....these people are trained for just the type situation you are in....there is no way to  know what is going on in there without going in and biopsying tissue....PLEASE FIND A GYN/ONCOLOGIST....that is important.  Keep us posted....I will be waiting to hear from you..
Peace.
