Fluid around the lungs?

Hi Ladies,
I was wondering if some of you may have experienced the build up of fluid around your lungs.
When my mom was diagnosed, she had ascites that had traveled to the lining around her lungs.
It was drained and chemo reduced the ascites. Now, the ascites is building back and she has had her lung drained multiple times.  They are thinking of sealing the lining of the lung so they no longer have to drain it.
She is back in chemo now.  Has anyone experienced this or had the pleuradesis procedure done?
I'm not sure if she just needs the chemo to kick in or if there is more to it.
Thanks much and God bless you all on your healing journeys!

I am interested in hearing more about your mass.  What kind did it turn out to be? What kind of specialist did you see for the mass? Where was it located? in the lung? on your chest? between the chest? could you feel the mass? Did it turn out to be malignant for Ovarian cancer that's why they did the hystorectomy?

Thanks

I had that procedure twice and it was because a had a big mass and it was making pressure
in my lungs. When the doctors took way the mass they also did an hysterectomy on me .
After that i had chemio (6 treatments). Now i am on remission. I hope it will stay like that.
Good luck to your mom.

I cannot answer your questions but there are women here who can and I am certain one of them will be along shortly.
I am sorry your mom is having to go through all of this.....hopefully the chemo will help.  I know it is really hard on you and your family....you need to take good care of yourself so you can help your mom.
Peace.
