For Hazel30

Hi

After seeing your post I had to message you.
I am so sorry about your mum fighting another reoccurence. We are still getting through mums first reoccurence.
I have a 2 yr old son and its so hard seeing Jake with my mum as she wants to play football with him and take him out but the effects of the chemo have meant she can't feel her feet or drive.

Has your mum had a CT scan?
Mum still have 1 cm mass left in her liver after her 6 chemo sessions. We are trying to get radiofrequency ablation on this but our local hospital doesn't offer this treatment.

I am thinking about you and your family.

Take Care

Ang

Hi Ang, thanks for the message.

My Mom has not yet had a ct scan.  We are meeting with her doctor next week and Im sure he will be requesting one.  She had a ct scan about 3-4 weeks ago and there was very little progression in the lymph node which is where her recurrence is.

Im sorry to hear that you Mom still has some disease after 6 cycles.  What is her doctor saying about that?  I hope you do find someone that can help you with the RFA I did hear it helps liver tumors.

Take care
Fiana

Interesting - I've had RF ablation 3 times on my heart but didn't know it could be used for cancer. What a great idea.

Just a quick note about the radiofrequency ablation. This procedure is done by what is known as an interventional radiologist. So you must find a hospital that has an interventional radiology section. I had to drive almost 3 hours to the closest one to me. So you might check out hospitals in surrounding bigger cities.
