I am sorry you are feeling so miserable. This may sound crazy, but one of the ways I am able to rid myself of the actual gas, and therefore the pain, is to somehow get my rear up in the air....gas rises right? :-)
Sometimes I will get on my hands and knees with rear up. It also helps to lay my upper body over the side of the bed leaving my rear up. You can actually feel the gas move and it may help to change from side to side. Just be careful when you get up to do so slowly.
If the pain continues; though, I would definitely contact your doctor. Do take care and I hope you have some relief soon.
I read here on MedHelp that not being able to pass gas, could be a sign of a blockage. I don't want to bring up the worse case scenario to you, but you might want to talk to your doctor about it. You didn't mention whether you could pass it or not, only that you had gas pains. I had a blockage while I was in the hospital and it is no fun. The pains feel like labor pains. It was some of the worst pain I've ever felt.
I'm so sorry you are feeling badly. Try to walk around as much as possible like Sharon mentioned. If you can at least pass it, that means most likely, there is not a blockage.
