God Bless you all

I don't have a question. I can't believe I'm even at this group. My mom passed away August 14th of ovarian cancer. I belong to the grief group. A lady responded to a post of mine. I looked at her page saw the ovarian cancer area and clicked on it. I answered somebody's question. Maybe I don't belong here, however after taking care of my mom for a little over a year, I know more than I ever wanted to about this ***** of a cancer.Maybe I have a bit of a jaded view of it though. It's painful reading all of your stories. I might be able to give some helpful advice. I did everything I could for my mom. Even did research at times asked doctors at city of hope if this med would work. Thats a great idea was the answer I got quite often. They were the doctors yet when the meds they suggested didn't work , I had to find what would. Anyway anybody who is getting chemo should take Emend before it,it helps so much with nausea and vomiting.I don't know if this is good for me to read these posts.I almost don't ever even want to here the words ovarian cancer again..Best of luck to all with this evil cancer

We sure are a wonderful group and welcome to us! This forum helps me everyday.  I have never met a single woman on her in person, but I have felt their arms around me and their spirit in me on a daily basis.  Stay as long as you like and maybe we can all continue to help eachother.

Yes we welcome you here! I only wish you had found us sooner. Sharon is right, if you need a break, you should take it but if you feel as though you can be of help here we are more than glad to have you.
I am sorry for the loss of your mom. This damn disease takes far to many of our loved ones. But in leaning on each other, it helps to get us through. So at the same time you are offering to help us, let us help you too.

If it hurts too much, stay away for a bit.  I believe you will feel good if you can contribute here and offer your experience based knowledge.  It's a personal decision but you are most assuredly welcome to visit whenever you choose.

As Terersa said "Welcome to our Forum".  I belong to several forums where caretakers participate and support each other.  I hope you decide to stay.  There are several caretakers that still come here and support us who have lost their loved ones to this disease.  I think it helps with grieving to give back and share your experiences.  I'm so sorry that your mother has passed away.  It hasn't been that long. God Bless you .... Cindy

Welcome to our forum!  I think none of us can believe we are "here."  It would not be a place we would have chosen to hang out before we or one of our close family members were stricken with Ovarian Cancer.  Please stay and help those you can.  That's what it's all about.
