Good News :-)

Hi Everyone

I havent posted in a few days as I've been up and down with this lactose thing and am sleeping sooooo much, I have to be careful about everything I eat at the moment cos I'm finding more and more foods have me in pain and sat on the toilet :-(

Anyway, the good news is I had my follow up appointment with the Gyn yesterday, turns out I didnt have one cyst but 2 and he was pleased to report that both were completely BENIGN which is just the news I was hoping for so I am smiling for the first time in 2 weeks.  The biggest of the 2 was a 'mucinous' which weighed in at a whopping 27lbs inc the fluid and would have continued to grow and the other was a 'brenner' (i didnt bother to question the difference between them) and was attached to my right ovary. As I've lost both ovaries now and the path reports are good I've got Estrogel for the next 20 years, hormone replacement is a small price to pay though just to have by body back and alien free :-)  I just need to put some weight on now and get my energy levels back to normal The Doctor has said he does not want me to return to work until Monday 3rd April so another 3 weeks of recovery time for me yet and I'm making the most of all the help at home... I do know its a long road ahead and I'll still have to be careful not to lift too much for a while but I'm now feeling much more positive.

Has anyone had/got any experience with Estrogel, I'm only 40 so dont know what to expect with the menopause now upon me 10 years early!
Anne-Marie

ps. thanks for all who have posted asking how I am , love you all :-)

Good grief girl, that was some Alien!.  Am thrilled about your good news - as for the sleeping, don't worry about it, obviously you need the rest - make sure you listen to your body.
Hope you're well on your way to a full recovery.  Spicegirl

It's great to see you up and around!  I know how relieved you're feeling right now.  Just be sure to continue to take it easy and keep gaining some of that weight back.

I went through a natural menopause quite early (44).  The most difficult part for me was the insomnia and hot flashes but HRT definitely helps with that.  Just be sure to have the HRT monitored carefully by your doctor.

I'm so very happy for you :-D

What great news!!! Everyone here has been worrying about you! You give us all hope and courage!! Take care of yourself. And I know there are plenty of great things you can replace that nasty dairy with...It will just take some re-learning. I bet after what you've been through that will be a breeze. Take care! Cindi

I am so happy for you that you have had good news and most importantly hope. I am on HRT,premarin 6.25 and have been since the age of 29. Very early menopause! It doesn't always have to be negative. I actually have lived a very active life and have felt wonderful all these years.
