Good news at last

Leslees scan shows the 3  lesions on the abdominal wall unchanged in size, 1 1/2 cm and no new ones, CA125  went down from 287 to 204.  She feels great,  Had the 4th Doxil today,   Here is her list of suppliments, COQ10, Vits C and E and a Multi Vit. cranberry capsules, ginger, green and sage tea.  Diet is still many fresh veggies and fruits, very little meat, yogurt, fish oil used in salads, soy products, flax seeds,  Turkey on herb bread for sandwichs,  Is making a blended drink of carrots and strawberries and peaches.  She likes the diets  prepared from the NR booklet.  She knows she is not out of the woods yet, but this is the first good news in a year.  They told her she could use the hot tub, I nixed that, why take the chance of the foot and hand thing again.  She used the ice cooling to feet and hands today while being infused.  Has any one getting Doxil ever have it become ineffective and if so after how many of them.  Needless to say this Mother is very encouraged tonight.

So happy to hear your good news. Leslie needs this especially after all those awful symptoms. yhwh mentioned flax oil. I do the ground up flax seed in my oatmeal. Keep those intestines healthy also getting omega 3s. There was good doumentation on prostrate cancer with the ground up flax seed.

And you need the good news...

Research Dr Johanna Budwig's website and also Barleans.  They both talk about Flax See and Flax Oil and you will find the informatin very helpful as well as hopeful.  Flax Seed best source for the Omega's that our body needs.  It is good in the fight against cancer as well as other health concerns.  Increasing the oxygen level and correcting the PH balance will also assist in regaining health.  Great News!

That is amazingly wonderful news!!  She sounds like she is on a great diet regimen.  I would replace regular yogurt with Activia if she is not already using it.  By using it, I have given up Doc-Q-Lace, and milk of magnesia.  I had a spastic colon for so many years I never thought constipation would be an issue but with all of the meds... Activia is offering a money back guarantee if you try it for two weeks and it doesn't regulate you, you get your money back up to 12 dollars.  I have become a huge advocate and tell everyone I can and no I do not work for Dannon.  LOL  I hope Leslee continues to improve and that her numbers drop drastically.  Both of you are on my prayer list.  I hope you are getting the support you need as a caregiver.

No new disease and a decrease in CA-125 is great news and bodes well. My mother started Doxil in January of this year, and her CA-125 has just started to rise, so she had a good 9 month run. May Leslee have continued success on this treatment!

The COQ10 is taken mainly to offset any heart problems while on Doxil, but is a wonderful antioxident, she takes this 3 times perday, 100mg each, she takes Vit C in a divided dose of a total of 3000mg per day, Vit E 50 mg dose 2 times per day, 1 multivitamine, 3 cranberry capsules per day,  the rest of her natural intake is balenced with meals  she drinks 8 to 10 glasses of water per day,  there is no way to tell if these things are helping or not, but she feels so good about her body right now that  she will continue taking them and eating wisely.  I again want to thank all of you for your good wishes.

That is good news, I think doxil just takes a long time to start working, stable disease is definatly managable in my thoughts. Espescially after all we have all been through. Leslie is so lucky to have a mother so involved in helping her get better. I hope things continue to get better for you and your family.

With warmest thoughts,

Stephanie

Wonderful news like that makes all of us on here believe in continuing the fight as hard as we can - not easy sometimes! My good wishes to Leslee and to you. Can you also tell me what amount of the supplements Leslee is taking daily?

Hugs to both,

Ruth xx

Your posts of happiness reflect to me what a great bunch of people are gathered here.  Since I cannot reach you all in person, I want to send you  a great big hug. Tonight, as always, I will ask that God hold you in his arms and heal you.  I did this with my son when he was on life support for 11 days and against all odds he lived and is with me today.

What wonderful news!  I am so happy for you and Leslee. She may not be out of the woods, but she is seeing the forest through those trees, and that is a good sign.  Relax, breath in all of this, and enjoy!

God Bless!

That is great news for Leslie and you.  I was on Carbo and Doxil and went anemic after the 4th treatment with that combination, tell her to look out for the symptoms.  Best wishes to you both.

What a relief to read this about Leslee...Something seems to be working for her and whatever it is, GREAT....She and I are on the same kind of diet and supplements...I have added home enemas and really noticed a big difference in the last two cycles..Energy level bounced back much sooner.
Since Leslee can't jump into the hot tub, how about she treat herself to a nice relaxing massage, Mom??
