HOW FAR MEDICAL SCIENCE HAS NOT COME

To all you good ladies who have been through so much. Myself included.  It is sad to say that we have to ask each other these questions but it is supportive.  My 22 staples were removed yesterday.  The doctor was not more definitive on what caused what happened.  The cyst was already there and grew too heavy and collapsed the fallopian tube is the general consensus.  That caused it to smash into the bladdar.  Hm Softball sized and it hit a homerun into my bladdar and vaginal cuff.  The sad thing is that I was originally diagnosed with a bladdar infection but the pain up my back felt like kidney stone.  Then there was the confusion that I thought it was food poisoning.
Unfortunately, our medical science has made strides but not in many areas of women's health.  We are left to support each other and try and answer each other's questions and calm our fears.  The fear of the unknown was the worst for me.  When I went under the anest. what would they find and then would not know until later.  That is hard.  THere are no more definate tests other than going in and taking it out.  That is the bottom line. I have started subscribing to the Mayo Clinic's new Women's Health magazine.  It is encouraging.  Dear friends. Don't give up. Ask questions. Find a doctor who cares and understands and is pro-active in your health.  We need to keep informed.  Knowledge is power.  These are all trite expressions but you can see by this forum we are relying on each other for support.  SUPER JOB. We should all thank Medhelp for the opportunity to vent.  I am a survivor and so are WE ALL. TRUFFULZ

As a woman who was also mis-diagnosed not once, but twice with a bladder infection, I hear you. How can they simply not know the difference between advanced stage ovarian cancer and a bladder infection? They went the kidney stone route with me as well, and thank god they did - my CT scan showed all my tumors.

I was misdiagnosed with ovulation pains until my mother cursed the doctors out and then they made a better effort to figure out what was wrong with me of course it was a tumor and not just regular but my sympathy goes out to everyone on here going through their struggle. May peace be with everyone

Completely agree, Pam.  Having gone through it with my own gyn, my hope is that my case will help someone not have to hear the words, "I'm sorry we were wrong, you have ovarian cancer".
