I had a laparoscopy so my procedure was simpler, however these cysts are almost always benign, either an endometrioma or a cystadenoma. That's what I've read. Fallopian tube cancer is exceedingly rare. Exceedingly. With the surgeries you've had, it could be that what they are imaging might be issues from those?

Thank you so much for the reply. I also weigh alot. Well about a month ago I weighed 210 now I only weigh 187. The thing is I'm not even tring to lose the weigh even though I know I need to. I also don't feel like eating, and if I do I eat very little. Do you know what Might be causing this or does it have something to do with my preavious post. Again Thank you.
We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as you continue getting ready for your surgery. It's definitely not an easy time...difficult to wait it out, but it'll be here before you know it. My last surgery was on 4/26, and it turned out to be a laparotomy for a lot of the same reasons that yours will be. Scar tissue and adhesions plus the material from your hernia repair are getting in the way, so your doc can't do a laparoscopy. Depending on the severity of the roadblocks that are expected, it's pretty common to have more than one surgeon in the room. 4 eyes are better than 2, same with the hands. It's for our own good. Your nurses will be ready to help you deal with pain and discomfort. They'll encourage you to get up and walk after a specific amount of time. Don't be afraid to tell them if you're hurting. You shouldn't have to endure pain...that's why they give us the meds.
Discharge time for patients like us is between 4 and 6 days post-op. Be prepared for your doc to tell you that you can't do any lifting of anything heavier than a gallon of milk, stay away from pushing and pulling (just as bad as lifting), and no driving...all of this for 6 weeks (on average). Now, it's true that we frequently feel better earlier than the 6 week mark, so sometimes we cheat on the restrictions. Do yourself a favor an follow the directions that your doc gives you. You deserve the opportunity to heal completely. It will be worth it not to complicate your recovery. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Hang in there!
peace,
Anne
LindaF should be along soon... she just had a fallopian tube cyst removed, so she can tell you about those.
I just had a laparotomy and a tummy "tuck" type of surgery about 1 and 1/2weeks ago. I had two surgeons working on me. The plastic guy did the opening and trimming back of fat and skin and then the gyn/onc removed my ovaries and the large cyst I had. The plastic guy finished up and they put drains in. He did a hernia repair while he was in there. I had the surgery on Monday and I came home saturday. I was not a good surgical risk because of other health problems. All were very pleased that I came through it ok. I still have a lot of healing to do. I have a home care nurse coming in every other day to change dressings and check the incisions. The two drains I came home with will come out as the drainage slows down. I think one will come out on saturday. I see the docs 3 weeks from the date of the surgery for staple removal. I am quite heavy. After surgery I weighted 200lbs at 5ft.3 in. I am still very sore but am getting better evey day. Cross my fingers. I hope this will help you. Good luck.
