We're not doctors, and she should follow up with her doctor.
However, the third listing in my Google search says ...
Known as "Endometriosis of the uterus," Adenomyosis is benign and does not cause cancer.
I suggest you google for more information.
Hi KilMi,
It is a good idea for Mum to connect with her gynaecologist soon, hopefully within a couple of weeks if that is possible. In the dictionary, "Adeno" means a gland and "Myosis" means muscle. So it sounds as though there is some different or more glandular tissue in the muscle of the uterus. Of course the inner lining of our uterus is all glandular. As for the ovary cyst, lots of women have ovarian cysts in varying sizes, causing them discomfort or pain from time to time.
I am sure you don't need to worry too much, but I would seek the verification of the gynaecologist. A question you could ask the Gynae Dr is for a CA125 test, which may be abnormally raised in some women and can be used as an indicator for some women with ovarian cancer. With ovarian, mentsrual, or hormonal problams the CA125 can be raised and it not be cancer. In Australia a reading less than 35 is normal for all sorts of reasons as above. Hope this helps to reassure you & Mum.
