Let me second nyc lady's advice. You must have a gyn/oncologist involved. That will help assure that you get it right the first time.
My gyn/onc missed my last appointment. A nearby hospital called to ask him to come and save the life of a woman who was bleeding after a caeserean. His surgical tech told me that the repair she needed would only take him a couple of minutes. But most of the local gyns could not handle it.
Let us know how it goes. Good luck and God bless ...
A CA125 is not a "test" for ovarian cancer, there is no test to determine if someone has the disease. The fact that you have a mass could throw the counts off, as could a cold, tooth ache, or I am guessing you still get your period, and depending where you are in your cycle, your CA125 could be thrown off. CA125 is best used once someone has been diagnosed for recurrences.
Now all that being said, if cancer is suspected, your best chance for long term survival is to have the surgery done by a GYN/Oncologist. They have 3 years additional training, and if it is not cancer, not to worry cause they also treat many benign conditions.
Please give yourself the best odds and get a referral to a GYN/Oncologist.
Hang in there and remember, most masses/cysts are benign, Ovarian Cancer is a rare disease.
