Terrin,
Sorry I did not post sooner but I am just getting around from chemo yesterday. And you are right, high blood pressure is a side effect of avastin. I have been on a roller coaster with the high blood pressure problems and trying to get it leveled out. At one time I was on 4 different meds. Now I am just on one and it seems to be holding steady. I don't know if there is a particular med they start with as I believe it is trial and error to see what will work for you. But stay on the meds if they put you on them. I had mine go up as high as 203/118! But then I hit a point where it started running low so we had to cut them some. Right now I am taking 71/2 mg of Norvasc every day.
Good luck to you with this. I have found that the BP meds have a tendency to cause you to feel more tired (like I thought that was possible!) but as I said stay on them as high BP is nothing to play around with.
  Love Chris

High b/p from avastin is a normal side effect. There are so many meds out there for this..it all depends on what your Dr. likes.  Crecco(a list member) is on avastin and had big problems with her b/p..but is now much better.  I'm sure she will post.~~~Joanne
