With a family history like yours I would consult a Onocologist, the cyst is large and needs to be removed, but the onoc can take a good look and see if there is any cancer in there, and if so can do the best job of cleaning it up for you. Remember though that 98% of cysts are benign and OVCA is a rare disease. You might have a CA125 blood test run also, even if it is not always accurate, Do not waste time on this, not that I think you have cancer, but if it is, the sooner you get to it the better. Have you heard of the BRAC gene testing for tracing those family traits for breast and ovarian cancer? Don't wait for those results though, it takes about 10 to 12 weeks for the tests to be read. Good Luck and keep us posted, we care about you. Marty
The first step I can recommend is to have a laparoscopy. None of us knows until a laparoscopy procedure whether or not something is cancerous. All we can do is get a surgeon to scope it and see if there's reason for concern. The waiting is terrible! So, I'd try getting an appointment with a specialist and have a laparoscopy soon, just to rule out anything serious. Until then, please let us know how we can help you! We're here to encourage you all we can.
So for now, take charge of your health and get it checked out.
Best of luck!
