How long from surgery to chemo?

Hellow everybody!
I didn't post for a while, but I am reading every day.
I am also in trouble because of the diarrheea, I am better, the number reduced from six to three per day. I used an efervescent formulation with calcium, magnesium, vit. B 6, vit K, vit. D3.
I had surgery three months ago, with hemicolectomy, excision of three tumors (8, 3, 2 cm) I had reoccurence OC stage III C, after two lines of six chemo with Carbo/Cyclophosphamide and Carbo/ Taxol. Now I was proposed for a new chemo with Gemzar.
I have some questions, if you can help me:
-I have normal values of CA 125 (dr. told me that I have a non secretory form?!).What method can be used to know the treatment efficiency..
-if the duration from surgery to chemo is not too long (three months)
With my best wishes
Ain

The CA in CA-125 is "cancer antigen" and  often there are other antigens (proteins) that are secreted and therefore can be measured.  CEA is one measure that I recall being used in ovca at times.  Also, the doctors can monitor using imaging.

The length of time between surgery and chemotherapy depends upon many factors, including things like the stage and grade of cancer, whether this is first debulking or second,  and the recovery rate of the patient from the surgery.
