How much fluid gain is deadly

My wife has terminal ovarian cancer and is in the final stages.her legs are very swollen her andomen has severe swelling and her right kidney is very swollen and painful. The swelling has been gking off and on for iver a month but now she has gainee 15 lbs in just over a week. And the swelling is making it painful to walk. We are pretty sure the right kidney is dead or dying but other organs are also covered in tumors and cancerous tissue.our hope is to have dr drain some fluid to help wih reducing additional pain and especially to make breathing less laborious.

I'm so sorry for your wife's diagnosis and progression of disease. I hope doctors can help make her more comfortable. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
