I have double ovarian cycts and no one will help me

I am 23 now but when I was 16 I had an ultrasound done and they found one cyst on each ovary. They say it will damage me more to romove them. I have an extremely long line of cancer on both sides of my family and alot of my female members have had a hysterectomy already. I have so many problems with my period that I find it hard to believe that cysts are my only problem. I was told by one DR. that there was a very good chance I have endometrosis which also runs in my family. I have been married for over 5 years and have only gotten pregnant once and I miscarried. I cant handle this anymore. The Drs. tell me that they wont even check for cancer because I am too young to worry about such a thing. My 2nd cousin was diagnosed with cancer the 1st time when she was 9 and 4 months ago had a hysterectomy and part of her colon removed. You are never too you for cancer and I am tired of being brushed off. I dont have insurance anymore and dont know my options, I am to the point where I would like to have both of my ovaries removed. I feel that it is my body and if I want them removed I should be able too. Does anyone know the rules or laws about that?

I agree, next time you are in pain, go to the ER.  They have to take care of you.  Nobody is too young for this.  There are women here younger than you with cysts.  LoLoBoBo for one and I hope she drops in to talk to you.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  Godspeed

If you want to retain your fertility you need to see a reproductive specialis. They aught to be able to do more than a regular gyn. There is no reason to jump to getting your ovaries removed and that may not even take care of your problem especially if it is endometriosis.

Some of the younger gals on here have had trouble getting docs to listen to them...an outdated idea that you have to be older to really have problems. You need to look in your area for a gyn that deals in fertility issues to dx what is going on and take you seriously while doing their best to retain fertility.

Just like hysterectomy was used to fix any gyno problem was wrong, taking out ovaries to fix things can often be wrong, too.
Good luck and keep us posted.
