INSPIRATION FOR ALL YOU BEAUTIFUL WOMEN

Hi ladies,
from launching my own campaign during awareness week where me and 50 others wore shirts i had screen printed, talked to people, handed out brochures and sold merchandise i had the chance to meet a remarkable lady! She is currently in her 40's and has survived stage IVc ovarian cancer! yes i know remarkable. She is currently becoming a teacher just like me! They only discovered it after she could not stop bleeding after giving birth, opened her up and removed it all. She went through kemo and is here with us today!

Just wanted to share an inspiring story and i wish everyone strength! x

Hey,
yes my OVCA is estrogen dependant so i was placed on synarel to induce me into a medical menopause. However i actually got my period today so some how ...i dont think it is working! yet i am having hot flushes ! its crazy weird. I am going back to see my specialist monday so i will ask my doctor about it! hopefully its avaliable in australia.

so does aromasin induce a "real" or "medical" menopause as they are still trying to conserve my fertility?

Terrific story!  Thanks. : )
And thanks for all your hard work.
Is your OVCA estrogen-dependent?  Have you asked your doctor about taking anti-estrogen medication?  I'm on one called Aromasin.  It kills up to 95% of the estrogen in your body. I'm hoping it works for OVCA; it's in clinical trials for it now (it's used for breast cancer at the moment.)
And hey, at least you're entering menopause as your winter is approaching in Australia.  Happy hot flashes! : )
