Is this increase in CA125 signifcant?

I have not been diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but went through a round of tests back in October (transvaginal US, CA125 - which was 32 - and ultimately, laproscopic surgery).  Doctor says all looked fine.  As part of my annual check-up, I have asked to have my CA-125 checked because I am so scared of cancer (no family history, but I work in the medical field and probably 'know too much'.    Anyways - my April CA125 was 46! That's fourteen points higher than in OCtober.  From what I've read, when it doubles, that's when it is suspicious.  I know 14 points isn't a doubling, but isn't a 14 point jump in six months pretty significant???  I appreciate any feedback anyone might have.

Thanks, NYC lady.    It just seems like a big jump :((( I am terrified of OC and thought I had some of the symptoms, which is why I underwent all of the testing back in the fall.  I know they can't diagnose with just the CA125, but it does mean something's not right if it starts out at one number and then increases.    I wish I COULD relax.   Had the number just been high to begin with, I wouldn't have worried........it's the fact that is going up :((( Please tell me why I should be reassured by that.  Please, I really DO want to be reassured, as I am convinced there is a problem.

CA125 is not a test that cannot diagnosis ovarian cancer.  There is no test.  The CA125 is best used as a tumor marker in someone that has already been diagnosed.  There are also several reasons why a CA125 could be elevated, a tooth infection, a cold, a flare up of arthritis....numerous numerous reasons.

Try to relax.
