Just an update on mom

I have not posted recently, we have had some issues with mom and things have been really out of control. First the taxoteer was not working as we thought, the doctor felt that Avastin was her next option as opposed to topotecan, the chances of either having an effect was about 25% and due to the taxoteer wiping her out physically they felt topotecan was not a good idea. They were very up front about letting us know that if the Avastin did not have an effect we were looking at about 6 months. Saturday while visiting with her we noticed that her face was drooping on the right side, we took her to the hospital and after all the testing she has had a "mini" stroke. We are still waiting for the ekg results but they feel that it was a small clot ( increased risk with chemo ). As a result of this new issue onc. feels that due to her weaken physical condition and that blood clots are not uncommon when on chemo and or Avastin they feel that  for her quality of life  continued treatment is no longer an option. I appreciate all the prayers and kind words of encouragement you all have offered and in light of mom's current condition and prognosis I would appreciate any continued prayers we can get. Although I am very aware of what her future holds at this time I am really trying to focus on each day as we have it. Again thank you. Kimberly
