Large multi cystic right adnexal lesion

I recently had a CT scan the doctors thought I had kidney stones or appendicitis only to find a 8.4 cm x7.2 cm x 4.3 cm multicystic structure on my right adnexal with soft tissue centrally that maybe related to ovarian tissue.  I have a gyn appointment for an ultrasound.  What is the chance that it is ovarian cancer, since it is so big is there a great chance that it could be more dangerous.

Thanks for your help.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi There,
Most cysts and tumors of the ovary are benign. However something bigger than 4 cm should be removed surgically.  These usually do not resolve spontaneously and can cause pain.

Decisions about who should do your surgery (general gynecologist versus gyn oncologist) will be based on your age, past medical history, family history, exam, and lab test reports.

best wishes
